The Twin Crane Passport Case is a passport cover HANEOL created in collaboration with KOMSCO (Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation), from the makers of the Sejong Passport Case. Two cranes — the motif of senior Joseon officials’ rank badges and of the 500-won coin — are foil-stamped on the front, and 3M anti-skimming film protects your e-passport. Available in black, white, baby pink and mint; 14.2 × 20 cm.

The Story
Two years after the Sejong Passport Case, a new design created together with KOMSCO, the maker of Korea’s passports and currency.

A collaboration with KOMSCO, the corporation that prints Korea’s currency and passports. For a brand devoted to Korean passport cases, partnering with the maker of the passport itself meant a great deal. It launched through a crowdfunding program run by KOMSCO and the INNOPOLIS Foundation.
What the two cranes mean
The crane stands for integrity and dignity, and for scholarship and honor. Twin cranes appear in paintings of longevity and, from 1871 under King Gojong, on the rank badges of senior civil officials. Familiar from the 500-won coin and folk paintings, their meaning had been fading — so we brought them back.
Fine foil detail
Two years of foil-stamping experience from the Sejong case show in every feather. Gold, silver or rose-gold foil is used depending on the color.
Built-in anti-skimming
3M shielding film between the inner and outer layers protects the personal data on your e-passport chip.
Black, white, baby pink and mint
The four colors were chosen from Sejong supporters’ color survey and reviews. Colors may look different depending on your screen and lighting, and silver foil can appear gold under warm light in photos.

What is the connection with KOMSCO?

It looks gold in photos. Is it actually silver?
Some photos were taken under warm light, which makes the glossy silver foil look gold. Gold, silver or rose-gold foil is used depending on the color.
How is it different from the Sejong case?
The Sejong case carries the king’s dragon; the Twin Crane case carries two cranes, symbols of scholars and honor, and adds 3M anti-skimming film.
